Dive site information: Beit Goha is a labyrinth coral garden, aptly named after a notoriously confused Egyptian cartoon character. Be careful, since even experienced dive guides sometimes find themselves lost in this maze. Elaborate coral patches are blended with sand, tunnels and canyons. It’s a quite shallow dive, seldom more than 15 m /50 ft, but you can drop down to more than 30 m / 100 ft on the outer side of the reef.

Marine life: Most scuba divers come to Beit Goha is for the extremely good coral coverage found here. The corals are healthy, diverse and colourful. It is an exquisite mix of hard and soft species, including stunning table corals, large bommies and extensive soft coral patches. There are huge corals in the shape of melted wax candles as well as braching Acropoa. You will find thousands of tiny carpet anemones on the bottom.

The abundance of corals attracts beautiful reef fish as well as schooling species. Fish life at the Beit Goha reef include snappers and unicorns, while the sandy plots of land host bottom dwelling fishes such as bluespotted stingrays, crocodilefish, reef whitetip shark and guitar sharks. Other common fishes in this diverse area are trumpetfish, groupers, goatfish, surgeons and triggers.
