Dive site information: The Blue Hole is a vertical shaft that extends more than 300 m / 984 ft down. You enter the Blue Hole through a big lagoon, approximately 50 m / 164 ft across, located at the top of the reef. A lip located at 6 m / 20 feet lead you from the lagoon to the outer reef. Deep inside the hole there is also an arched passage linking the face of the reef to the hole. Many scuba divers actually prefer the rich sloping reef outside the Blue hole to the Blue hole itself.

Marine life: The reef outside the Blue Hole whole is covered in corals such as acropora, star and brain corals, especially the part of the reef located south of the lagoon. There is not a lot of soft corals. Animal life around the Blue Hole includes parrotfish, grouper, surgeonfish, triggerfish and jacks.
