Depth: El Kaf has some considerably deep areas that extends down well beyond 40 m / 130 feet. The average depth for El Kaf is however no more than 18 m / 60 ft.

Water temperature: Scuba diving at El Kaf is warmest in September, with water temperatures around 27° C / 81° F. February is the coldest of the winter months, with water temperatures usually down around 20° C / 68° F.

Dive site information: You enter the El Kaf dive site effortlessly through a canyon that reaches into a narrow and sandy bay. The reef bordering the canyon features pinnacles, smaller canyons, shelves, slopes, swimthroughs and sandy ravines. Points of interest at El Kaf include the crescent canyon situated in 6 m / 20 ft of water at the southern bay corner. It provides the scuba diver with a wide assortment of cavelets, alleys and passages.

Marine life: Coral cover is very good and diverse, with corals are looking remarkably healthy. There is a number of 2 m / 7 feet wide dead Acropora tables totally covered in soft corals. The animal life at El Kaf includes blue spotted stingrays, big grouper, crocodilefish, trumpetfish, batfish, dozens of wrasse species and a huge quantity of starry and spotted pufferfish. Schooling fish thrive here as well, and you can see large hordes of fusiliers, unicorns, glassfish, snappers and goatfish.
