Visibility: The visibility at the Gordon Reef is averagely around 20 m / 65 ft.

Water temperature: The water temperatures at Gordon Reef will change with seasons. In February temperatures will stay around 20° C (68°F), while September is the warmest month and features water temperatures around 27° C (81° F).

Dive site information: The Gordon Reef is situated in the middle of the Straits of Tiran, and is marked by a commercial freighter wreck. The reef is barely submerged even at high tide. The Gordon Reef features a sheer wall and an oval sloping reef that is quite patchy and extends to the east and south of the shallow spherical reeftop. The current can carry you along the reef until you reach a sandy and flat spot at 40 feet / 12 meters.

Marine life: The wall is covered in fan corals and soft corals, and the Gordon Reef generally has a good variety of branching corals. Corals are healthy and grow quite dense. The sandy spot located at 40 feet / 12 meters features a lot of small coral heads and reef fish. In the middle of the reef slope, there is a shark amphitheater where several kinds of shark species can be seen on the sandy bottom. Fish life at Gordon Reef includes huge moray eels, surgeons, large napoleon, triggerfish, jacks, parrotfish, angels and small wrasse. Open ocean fish is attracted to the area around Gordon Reef.
