Dive site information: Safaga 1 / Kilo 32 North is located in a quite shallow bay just north of Quesir, whose northernmost end shelter the dive site a bit from the northern winds and waves. Inside the bay, the reef contains a lot of cavelets and passages at around 5 meters / 16 feet. Outside the bay, the reef slopes down to 25 m / 80 ft where it reaches the sandy bottom. A submerged strip of the reef extends down to about 35 / 133 ft outside the north end of the bay. While diving at Safaga 1 / Kilo 32 North you have to be careful not to entangle yourself in any of the many fishing lines, particularly along the northern edge of the bay.

Marine life: Stony corals are in majority at the Safaga 1 / Kilo 32 North reef. While scuba diving here, you will see a lot of big coral heads, star corals, lacy corals and brains. Acropora in tables and branching structures are also abundant. Among the most common soft corals at the Safaga 1 / Kilo 32 North reef are Dendronephthya and elephant ear. The bay is filled with many sorts of reef fish, and turtles like the sheltered area as well. Bottlenose dolphins frequently pay a visit.
